Ramen
Traditional dishes are something that is part of a tradition or a culture. Japanese tradition is very old and ancient but at the same time it is really graceful and colorful as well. When we talk about food and dishes that are specialties of Japan then Ramen is a name that has to be taken and describe. Ramen is kind of noodle dish that is usually eaten in Japan. However now it has made its way out of Japan as well and is served in different Japanese and Chinese restaurants all over the world. It can be said that it is originated from China basically because he noodle recipe that is used in ramen is from China. In ramen Chinese style wheat noodles are used along with meat or a fish. This is usually flavored with the help of soy sauce and miso. The toppings used are dried seaweeds in most of the cases. Green onions are also used as toppings and in some cases corn is also topped upon the soup or noodles. While visiting Japan different varieties of ramen noodles can be found depending upon the specialty of that area.
History of Ramen
If we look into history of Ramen then it is originated from China but when it was introduced in Japan, is not clear yet. There can be a big debate on word Ramen only as many people believe that it is a pronunciation of a Chinese word which means hand pulled noodles. There is another theory about the history of Ramen which tell that ramen was first known as noodles that were cooked in thick sauce.
Before 1950 and even in the same year it was known as Shina soba though in some regions is known as chuka soba as well.
